For this assignment, you will write a three- to five-page paper giving an overview of your organization, the training goals, and how you will assess the effectiveness of the training.

  • Provide a description of      your organization, the employees, and the stakeholders. Include the      following in your description:
    • Target audience for the       education program in this section.
    • Stakeholders for this       education program.
    • Organizational goals.
  • Provide goals for each      training program (for example, do you want employees simply to know the      information, be able to demonstrate specific skills, become proficient      with new software, etc.).
  • Map training goals to      the organizational goals.
  • Describe the assessment      method for each training program.
  • Cite at least two      quality references from the past two years.
  • Include as much       real-world information as possible on the COTS products and other       products as they pertain to your proposal.

Instructions

Write a complete project paper in which you provide the following:

Part I: Executive Summary
  • Develop a one- to two-page executive summary in which you describe the project’s key elements and findings. (Assume this will be read by one or more decision-makers who have responsibility for the program. This is where you “sell” your training proposal.)
Part II: Revised Assignments
  • Provide the final version of The Proposal (Week 3).
  • Provide the final version of The Plan (Week 6).
Part III: Conclusion and Lessons Learned
  • Write a one- to two-page conclusion that provides your observations about the project, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Using your answers and responses from the discussion question in Week 6, propose at least one way you can use moderation to justify the need for the learning and training team that you head.
  • Provide at least six relevant, quality references, which must be published in the last two years.

Part 3

  • Discuss at least two concepts and two skills you learned in this course. Predict how you might use these concepts and skills in your current or future work environment.
  • Recommend a concept and/or skill that you believe should be added to the course. Provide a rationale for your views.
  • Predict at least two ways the field of evaluation of programs for adult learners might change in the next ten years. Provide a rationale for your views.

PART 1: TRAINING METHOD AND JUSTIFICATION

For each of the trainings, you will do the following:

  1. Describe the training and delivery method.
  2. Describe the assessment method for each training.
  3. Justify your choice of delivery method and training.
  • Use as much concrete data as possible, including the following:
    • Time to develop the training or to implement a COTS training product.
    • Cost of the training method (cost to develop or purchase, as well as incidental costs, such as the need for additional equipment, software, or space).
    • Cost of assessment.
    • Cost of employee time in training.
  • Include adult learning theory in your justification.

Note: Feel free to use a different training method and assessment method for each training.

PART 2: ASSESS TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS

Describe how you will evaluate the effectiveness of each training.

  • Justify your evaluations with both cost information as well as adult learning theory.

Use least three quality references from the past two years, no more than one of which you have used previously.

  • Include as much real-world information as possible on the COTS products and other products as they pertain to your proposal.
