San Diego Community College District Ampere & Faraday Report

this is a virtual lab that will include a hyperlink to the equipment needed to get the raw data for calculations. the lab is about Exploring the relationships between currents and magnetic fields and how changes in one produce changes in the other. If the lab requires a graph, here is copy of the syllabus that States what is expected for full points on graph.

Preparing a Graph by Computer
Create a ‘scatter plot’ graph. Plot only the data points. Do not have the computer ‘connect the dots’. Format the axes to change the scale as needed to improve accuracy. Include minor and major gridlines. Add a title and axis labels as described above. Include a text box with your name and the experiment date.
Add a best-fit line by using a drawing tool and inserting a line onto your graph. Do not use any sort of ‘trendline’ function. Unless you include error bars on each data point the trendline function is meaningless. Make sure the ends of the best-fit line extend well beyond the first and last data points. Adjust the position
of the line as needed and complete the analysis just as if graphing by hand.
