Hi I need some help with my homework please ??
As mentioned in the reading and discussed in the lecture, film scholar Dudley Andrew proposes that we look at world cinema in terms of multiple overlapping “maps”: political, demographic, linguistic, orientation, and topographical. How can these terms allow us to see Talentime from different angles?
For this assignment, you will need to:
- Choose two of Andrew’s maps, and discuss how they give us different national or transnational views of Talentime. Your response should address specific elements, scenes, or characters in the film. You will be graded based on not just how well you connect the “maps” to the film, but also how you demonstrate the significance of using different maps to view the same film. This is due 11:59pm on Saturday, Aug. 28.
- Then, you need to comment on another student’s post. Your response must build upon the previous post, either by developing its train of thought or proposing another way of looking at the question. You can post this when you post your previous post, or if you are waiting for others to submit their original posts, you have until 11:59pm, Sunday Aug. 29.
