Read the Intro and Chapter 1 from the SPARK book found in the week 1 folder.

Using the SPARK chapter and ONE other peer-reviewed journal article, discuss the correlation between the two (PA and academic achievement). How is this information relevant to you as a future physical educator? If you are not a future PE teacher, how is this information relevant to you, as a current student?
  1. Focus on pages 28 and 29 where it begins with Jessie and her sister. Think about a time you had a big exam, this morning class you struggle to wake up for, or other stressful events.
    1. After focusing on these two pages, as well as the rest of the chapter, discuss how this information resonates with you as a student and an educator.
    2. In what ways will you implement a fitness-based physical education (PE) environment when you get hired? OR, if you are not a PE major, how do you envision a fitness-based PE environment to look if you went back to Prek-12?
    3. How will your program look in comparison to the old school, traditional, team sport model? OR, if you are not a PE major, how would you hope this new program would look in comparison to the old school, traditional, team sport model?
