1.2. Research Questions
This research aims to provide more clarity on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on consumer behavior by answering the following questions:
How have consumer attitudes changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?
How has the pandemic affected consumers themselves?
What new patterns have emerged as a result of these changes in consumer behavior?
1.3. Research Objectives
The project has four main objectives:
- To determine why consumers are giving up on self-fulfillment needs during pre- and post-COVID-19.
- To examine if consumers are mostly spending on essential products only.
- To know the awareness of saving and investment.
- To find effective strategies to be adapted in changing of consumer shopping behavior.
2.6. Hypothesis
For the purpose of this study, two hypotheses have been adopted:
Hypothesis 1: “The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly changed consumer behavior from pre-pandemic patterns.”
Hypothesis 2: “Consumer behavior has adapted to include savings and safer shopping habits.”
