Module 2: Assignment Instructions
- Select a historical figure from the list of individuals who have had an impact on Nursing. Identify your choice in the associated M2 discussion area.

- Review the Grading Rubric (below or under the assessment tab ->rubrics -> historical figure presentation) that will be used to grade your presentation.
- Following the grading rubric to prepare a PowerPoint presentation (PPT). See YouTube video below for considerations on errors to avoid in developing your PPT.
- Prepare your PPT to share with class via Web Ex.
- You will do a formal presentation via Web Ex using your PPT, audio, and webcam. This is a “professional” presentation, so your appearance and surroundings should be as if you were presenting at a professional venue.
- Limit your presentation to 5 minutes
- After completing your presentation submit your PPT to the assignment dropbox.
- Forms and feedback will be available after grading in the Dropbox.
- A few other considerations in developing your presentation:
- Avoid too many bullets on a slide (typically 4‐8)
- Avoid too many words on each bullet (typically few words, very short phrase, no sentences)
- If your historic figure has developed a theory, make sure you clearly address the above criteria and not just a presentation of their theory.
- Be sure to address how the historic figure was a benefit to nursing.
- Do Not copy and paste into your presentation.
- Do Not read word‐for‐word from a source.
- Remember that ANY content you include that is not your own, needs to be specifically referenced
