Instructions
The firm “Etica” is a US-based firm that manufactures high-end, luxury leather goods (handbags, purses, wallets, belts, shoes, etc.). Etica is entertaining the idea and plan to enter a new marketplace (your selected foreign country). The firm has no experience conducting business in the foreign country and has looked to you for help as a business professional with international business experience. As you are an executive consultant for the firm, you are looked to as an expert for their strategic recommendations!
my role in this presentation is “Your role as a consultant is to provide the executive team with a strategic plan to address the specific cultural characteristics of the selected foreign country and to provide them with a concise overview and strategic plan that addresses the criteria in the assignment.“
Considering the specific cultural characteristics about your selected country (language, political climate, economic climate, social climate, industry analysis within your country, etc.), you will provide the top management team at Etica with the following information and recommendations:
- Introduction to your country selected (brief cultural description and how it will affect Etica’s move into the country)
- How will Etica enter this foreign market? (what resources & capabilities will be leveraged? / what institutions, cultural characteristics and ethics will Etica need to consider?)
- How can Etica internationalize their firm? (what strategic alliances or networks should they form or engage in and why?)
- How will Etica strategize and structure their organization to succeed in your country selected? (what governance must exist? / what will be their dual strategy – current & future focus?)
