Type your cause-and-effect statements using specific details, as in the following example:
Cause: In 1925 the electronic microphone was invented and became widely available.
Effect: After 1925 singers could record their voices at much lower volumes to capture an intimacy and expressivity that was previously impossible. This new style of singing was called “crooning”, and singers such as Gene Austen and Bing Crosby were the forebears of this style.
