As we have now covered Climate and are now preparing to explore economics and policy from the perspective of the environment, we will first take a look at one of the more frank and succinct explanations of the climate issue, it’s potential consequences, and a broad framework for how we as a country might navigate our way to a solution. I am referring to the Green New Deal (attached below). While the 2019 resolution was not passed by congress and the Biden Administration has stopped short of endorsing it, there is still a very active movement to see it, or something like it, taken up as comprehensive plan to address not only climate change but also the inevitable economic consequences of enacting such large scale changes over a short period of time.

What you will need to do for this discussion:

1. Read the House Resolution (only 14 pages).
2. Read the linked “Divided We Fall (链接到外部网站。)” Article where Joe Schuman And Ethan Freedman debate the proposed issues in the document.
3. Identify one point from each author you agree with and one point from each author you disagree with and cite why you disagree.
4. As always respond respectfully but critically to one of your classmates responses.
