RSCH 8110 Walden University Quantitative Research Article Annotation

I’m working on a education & teaching discussion question and need an explanation to help me study.

Assignment: Annotation of a Quantitative Research Article

Submit: Annotation of a Quantitative Research Article

This week, you will submit the annotation of a quantitative research article on a topic of your interest. Quasi-experimental, casual comparative, correlational, pretest–posttest, or true experimental are examples of types of research designs used in quantitative research.

An annotation consists of three separate paragraphs that cover three respective components: summary, analysis, and application. These three components convey the relevance and value of the source. As such, an annotation demonstrates your critical thinking about, and authority on, the source. This week’s annotation is a precursor to the annotated bibliography assignment due in Week 10.

An annotated bibliography is a document containing selected sources accompanied by a respective annotation of each source. In preparation for your own future research, an annotated bibliography provides a background for understanding a portion of the existing literature on a particular topic. It is also a useful first step in gathering sources in preparation for writing a subsequent literature review as part of a dissertation.

Please review the assignment instructions below and click on the underlined words for information about how to craft each component of an annotation.

Please use the document “Annotated Bibliography Template with Example” for additional guidance.

It is recommended that you use the grading rubric as a self-evaluation tool before submitting your assignment.

By Day 7

  • Use the Walden library databases to search for one quantitative research article from a peer-reviewed journal on a topic of your interest.
  • Before you read the full article and begin your annotation, locate the methodology section in the article to be sure that the article describes a quantitative study. Confirm that one of the types of quantitative designs, such as quasi-experimental, casual comparative, correlational, pretest–posttest, or true experimental, was used in the study.
  • Annotate one quantitative research article from a peer-reviewed journal on a topic of your interest.

CFIPH Impact of The Anti War Movement on Opposition to The Vietnam War Thesis

Hello. I have a 5-8 page paper due and I need a minimum of 5 pages done please? I have my thesis and sources.

Thesis Statement. This must be in the form of an argument in which you defend your belief with evidence.

Even though some people questioned the Vietnam War because of the increasing cost of both lives and funds, and others based on the complexity from the Tet Offensive, this anti-war movement was sequentially a requisite driving force to the opposition of the Vietnam War.

UCF Artist and Inspiration Paper

Session 3 Research Paper

Artist and Inspiration

The author of our course’s text, Jerram Barrs, explores the idea that quality art (on some level) truthfully explores what it means to live life as a human. In Echoes of Eden, he states, “This principle of representing things as they are is a matter of obedience and honesty. Simple integrity constrains us to communicate faithfully and truthfully not only about the Lord himself and other people whose stories appear in the Bible, but also about our current human condition” (Barrs, 2013).

In our discussion assignment this session, you chose a specific artistic medium for your Session 5 Final Project. Now that you have identified the particular form of art that you’d like to submit, we will engage in an important step of the creative process – researching the form and technique of those who have come before us. For this paper, identify an artist who has created art in the same category that you have selected for your final project. For example, if you have chosen to compose a poem for your project, you’ll need to identify a prominent poet to research.

In two to three-pages (formatted per APA standards), address these elements:

  • What do you personally find inspiring about this artist’s work?
  • How do you see universal truths of humanity (pain, joy, love, redemption, etc.) within the artist’s work? If you do not see these, explain what you think the artist is attempting to convey.
  • What makes this artist’s work different than other artists who create the same type of art?
  • Identify a minimum of two elements within his or her artistic technique and explain how you could potentially utilize them in your Session 5 Final Project.

SDSU Convert Native Americans to Devoted Spanish Citizens & Christian Discussion

I’m working on a history multi-part question and need an explanation to help me study.

1) What were the goals of California missions? How did Indigenous  peoples resist during the time period of the missions? Be sure to  provide specific examples.

2) How does the term “Manifest Destiny” relate to the chapter “Sea to  Shining Sea” from our textbook? Be sure to provide specific examples  from the textbook.

3) What was Deborah Miranda’s argument in “Lying to Children about  the California Missions and the Indians” article? What stood out to you,  and why?

4) How does your K-12 education relate to the experiences mentioned  in Lim’s article on “Educating Elementary School Children About  California Missions and Genocide”? Why might the ways missions are  taught be problematic? How might this problem be resolved, specifically  what does Lim advocate for in the article?

5) What stood out to you in the article “What the ‘California Dream’  Means to Indigenous Peoples”? What does the “California Dream” mean to  Indigenous peoples, and what solution does the author suggest?

6) Provide a quick analysis of Bob Marley’s “Buffalo Soldier” based  on the history covered in this week’s materials. This analysis is open  to your own interpretation and creativity! Please include lyrics and  examples from our materials to build meaningful connections.

7) Lastly, since this is our very last discussion blog, please take a  moment to reflect on what we’ve learned so far. What do you predict  we’ll be learning in Module 6 and how will these materials  connect to the materials we’ve already covered? What did you find to be  the most important take-aways from the course so far? What was most  interesting or personally meaningful to you, and why?

Replay: Goals of California missions

California missions had a goal of converting Native Americans into Spanish citizens and devoted Christians through the use of both religious and Spanish instructions. Also, the mission had the objective of pacifying the selected areas for the purpose of colonial interest. The indigenous people resisted through making different attempts of preventing the runaways through armed parties, for example punishing the captured runaways.

  1. “Manifest Destiny” and “Sea to Shining Sea”

“Manifest destiny” was a phrase formulated to depict that through the God United States is destined, implying that it is supposed to expand its ideas to the northern American continent. Example capitalism, democracy, and its dominions. However, the phrase “Sea to Shining Sea” means the expansion to the Pacific Ocean from the Atlantic Ocean which is a two-way aspect. Example America explores grew spread other parts. Therefore, both phrase’s relation is that both portrays the aspect of America’s expansion to other global parts.

  1. Deborah Miranda’s argument

Deborah Miranda’s argument in “Lying to Children about the California Missions and the Indians” is that children have lied about the Indians and the California mission which is a damaging approach towards Indians through demonstration of false ideas. Something that stood out is that the article reveals the truths that are hidden by depicted myths because through the article Indians can plan on their emancipation.

  1. K-12 education

The k-12 education has a sufficient relationship with Lim’s article since the examples depicted in the article are similar to what was taught in school. The methods of teaching the mission are problematic because there is much evidence that justifies the false information. However, the problem can be solved by ensuring there is a true depiction of the indigenous and current Indians’ information.

  1. ‘California Dream’ Means to Indigenous Peoples”

Something that stood out in the article “What the ‘California Dream’ Means to Indigenous Peoples” is that the dream focuses on the aspect that the settler dream was affected by Spaniards through their push to migrate to American intending to find gold. The dream means that land return does not call for the vacation of the land by non-natives, instead, the solution provided is that it requires a reorientation of the natural and land relations at the same time prioritizing beliefs and forms.

  1. Bob Marley’s “Buffalo Soldier

Bob Marley’s “Buffalo Soldier” song provides an insight into the American manipulative ability for the benefits of achieving “manifest destiny”. However, the phrase “stolen from Africa brought to America” relates to the application of California’s mission to manipulate the Indians for colonial interest.

  1. Reflections

Having learned the history of America and the native- Americans has influenced my understanding of the existing information learned both in school and outside school. However, in Module six I predict we will learn about Mission San Francisco which further displays the Spanish influence. One of the biggest take-ups away is that historical information can be misleading hence it requires in-depth evaluation for understanding. Therefore, the most interesting aspect is the false dissemination of the California mission because it is against truth and the current missions.

Our Lady of the Lake University Identifying Validity Threats Discussion

Experimental designs are the gold standard of research because they help eliminate any other explanation for why an intervention does or does not work. However, experimental designs are difficult in social service settings for many reasons. For purposes of practicality, we often opt for quasi-experimental designs that introduce limitations to our research (threats to validity). While it is nearly impossible to eliminate every threat to validity, there are ways to mitigate those threats.

Instructions- Create an original discussion post where you identify two potential threats to validity and craft ways to mitigate those threats.
