University of Maryland DNA Structure & Molecular Biology Processes Questions

I’m working on a biology writing question and need an explanation to help me study.

a). Discuss the DNA structure and complimentary base pairing of DNA and RNA;

b). Use your understanding of the molecular biology processes (i.e. DNA manipulation, transcription, translation and genetic engineering) to discuss how the COVID-19 mRNA-based viral vaccines were created? In your Part b discussion, identify each molecular biology process that you believe would be involved in creating the COVID-19 mRNA-based viral vaccine.

Biology 1406 Lab 6 Problem 6.2 Fall 2020 – YouTube

How did concentration of the syrup solution and the heat of the system relate to the distance the solution traveled up the pipette shaft? Explain clearly. Was the 10% and/or 30% solution hypotonic, hypertonic, or isotonic to the liquid in the beaker? How do you know? Is the 10% solution hypertonic or hypotonic to the 30% solution? How can you tell based on your experimental results? In the four osmometers, what was the “osmotic pressure” pushing against? Which of the four osmometers demonstrated the greatest rate of osmosis (or highest osmotic pressure per unit of time)? Why? Which osmometer demonstrated the lowest rate of osmosis? Why? Could this experiment demonstrate how trees might get water to the tips of their highest branches? If so, what would this experiment imply about tree roots

ES 274 WLU Anthropogenic Change in the Climate Due to Environmental Pollution Essay

“The Indigenous eco-philosophy that underlies the ability of Indigenous peoples to maintain dignified relationships to the land and food system is in sharp contrast to the Eurocentric belief, inherent in the worldview proposed by European philosopher Rene Descartes, that humans are to dominate and control nature, and therefore seek to “manage” the land that provides us with our food. Indigenous eco-philosophy reinforces belief that humans do not manage land, but instead can only manage our behaviours in relation to it.”

NSTRUCTIONS

After reading the above quote, please write a 500 word reflection (~1 single spaced page). You will use the “compass” method of reflection which looks in four “directions” as you write. Please include an introduction and a conclusion, and label each of the four sections.

INWARD

How do you feel about the quote provided? Does the quote make you think about anything in particular, an event, or a personal experience? Does the quote reflect or contradict any of your own personal values?

BACKWARD

Choose one of the other modules we have covered in the course so far that you feel is connected to this quote in some way. Which module did you choose, and why?

OUTWARD

What implications does the approach in this quote have for people, animals, and the environment?

FORWARD

Does this quote give you a new understanding of an Indigenous perspective? Do you think this will change anything for you?

UCF Ion Exchange Column Tube Filled with Particles Essay

I’m stuck on a Chemistry question and need an explanation.

Objective: State the aim of the experiment in your own words, usually around 2-4 sentences. A clear statement of the overall purpose for performing the experiment. For example, what is / are the goal(s) to be achieved and what idea(s) are you to learn during the duration of the project?

You will need to bring in TWO water samples (~250 mL per sample) from various sources. Here are some suggestions: tap water from various sites, pond water, and lake water. You are free to collect any water samples you are interested in testing their water hardness; make sure the samples are fairly diverse. Label the water samples you collect for accurate testing.

Using the standardized EDTA solution you prepared and saved last week, titrate and calculate the concentration of calcium ions of your water samples.

Next, run the samples through an ion exchange column; then calculate the calcium concentration of your water samples AFTER filtrating them through the ion exchange column. Use a conductivity meter and the EDTA titration to compare the calcium concentration of your water sample BEFORE and AFTER the ion exchange column filtration. Use the tables provided to collect and construct your data.

Include this information in the Methods and Procedures section of the pre-lab plan submission rubric below.

1. What is an ion-exchange column?

2. How does an ion-exchange column work?
