Week 4, our focus will be on the purpose statement. For this discussion, you will evaluate the purpose statements in assigned journal articles in your discipline and consider the alignment of theory, problem, and purpose. Alignment, as it pertains to research, is often a misunderstood concept. Alignment refers to the logical progression of ideas between the structural elements of a study. With aligned ideas, the process of researching become more narrowly focused, and the process of writing becomes clear and organized.
