In the United States, a great deal of emphasis is placed on the state. Respect and acknowledgement of state laws and rights are a fundamental part of this nation. Each state has its own set of laws that, in accordance with federal laws, govern the state’s citizens and how they work and live within that state. This includes how professions are recognized in that state.
This essentially means that the BACB alone cannot define how a behavior analyst gets licensed in a state. They must work with each state to determine licensing requirements specific to that state. Over the years, more states have developed licensing regulations for behavior analysts with the BACB.
For this Assignment, you will examine the requirements for licensing and certification as a behavior analyst in your state, and discuss any issues or challenges facing those trying to attain a license and/or certification in that state.
