The purpose of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to build on the ideas presented in class
about technology as a social artifact. Drawing on the three articles listed below, and two articles from
your own choice you will discuss how technology impacts or is impacted by human society. Your
essay should (1) begin with a clear thesis statement that makes a cohesive argument about technology
and human society, (2) synthesize key anthropological insights about technology, design, and human
interactions that emerge from the three articles listed below and (3) make at least three distinct,
evidence-based arguments that support your thesis statement, drawing on the articles below and/or
other course material.
