Abraham Lincoln University Rational Number Probability Problems
I’m trying to learn for my Probability class and I’m stuck. Can you help?
problem 1. Let x be a number chosen uniformly at random from [0, 1]. Find the probability of each of the
following events:
(a) 0.4 < x < 0.72;
(b) 0.4 ≤ x < 0.72;
(c) x ∈ {0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 0.7};
(d) x is one of the values in the infinite list 0.1, 0.11, 0.111, 0.1111, . . . ;
(e) x is a rational number.
