I’m working on a english discussion question and need an explanation to help me learn.

I need to have a summary of chapter 7 in my book “Radium Girls” I have the pictures of the chapter.

Special Project: Locate two (2) scientific articles for a total of 40 scientific articles related to material covered in the book. 2 articles per chapter- each summary is 1 page.

So I need 40 – 1 page article summaries, 2 per chapter.

Summary criteria:
1. Locate (2) scientific articles no older than the year 2019 using a bolded topics/vocabulary words from PowerPoint slides in each chapter. DO NOT DUPLICATE WORDS.
2. Appropriate articles sites include: Science and Nature. DO not use information from encyclopedias or textbooks, these are unacceptable and will result in a ‘0’ for the submission. The links to both sites are located on the module tab.
3. Each summary must be at least 2 paragraphs, typed, double spaced using 12 pt Times New Roman font with 1’ margins.
4. Article title must be listed above summary (bold) and citation in APA format and the bottom.
5. You must also indicate the term you referenced from the Chapter. Preferably in chronological order for ease of grading.
6. Each summary must be on its on page for formatting purposes.

Five Paragraph Essay Two- Compare and Contrast

In Suzanne Britt’s “Neat People vs. Sloppy People” and Dave Barry’s “Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out,” both authors examine just how intricate human relationships can be considering how many types of personalities are out there.  Examine the differences and the similarities between the two texts and determine who has the funnier essay and why. 

• Your essay needs to be five paragraphs in length. 
• It needs to be in a point-by-point structure. 
• You need proper MLA formatting
• You need to use the correct in-text citation for your evidence. 
• You need a works cited page with an entry for each of the essays.  
• You need to demonstrate organizational skills like transitions, transitional sentences, parallelism, etc.   

For maximum points, a well rounded short form essay should reach at least 3 pages double spaced or 1 1/2 single spaced

You are choosing again to write on 1 essay topic out of the 5 different topics provided.

Sources that can be used: OpenStax, documentaries, articles provided and scholarly articles of educational based websites (with websites included as a footnote each time you refer to a quote or an example). Sources NOT to be included, Wikipedia, Quizlet, any student forums which share essays, or further obvious sites like that. I trust that you know the proper outlets for research used for educational purposes. Plagiarism review is added on to all Final submission papers, to be free from this, always use quotes and provide references when you use someone else’s words. The rest of the writing is simply your own analysis of the material. Points are not taken off for grammar mistakes/spelling etc, but of course spell check everything to the best of your ability.

And lastly, this is more of an essay on your thoughts and perspective of the material and display of knowledge with what you learned. Quotes can be used, but kept at a minimum since I’ll be grading your own work . A good rule of thumb with papers is to keep quotes at 15-20% of writing at most, the rest should be your own sentences.

Topics:

1) Detail the course of Civil Rights in this country in terms of US Amendments, civil law, practice, etc. What laws were implemented to promote equality? You may chose any group of people to focus on and discuss their path with civil rights. Lastly, include your thoughts their civil rights stand in 2021.

2) Discuss the role between social media and the government. How are these two connected? In terms of public opinion, what specific examples have you learned about how social media can influence politics?

3) Explain in detail the why America runs on a 2 -party system and how each of these two parties have evolved and what they mean to America today. Do you feel that more parties should be included? Why or why not?

4) Discuss the checks and balances system we have with the legislative, executive and judicial branch. With this unique system, discuss how Congress, the role of the Presidency, and the Supreme Court are interwoven together. Include any situation in history or modern times that magnified the relationships between them. For example, with the passing of Ruth Ginsberg last year, picking a new lifetime Supreme Court judge came head on with the Presidency. You can discussion this situation or bring up another example.

5) Go into further detail about the U.S foreign policy from what you already discussed in Chapter 17. Bring up an example that Openstax referenced and go into further detail discussing the elements of international politics, the consequences, the outcome etc. Be sure to use scholarly examples only once you research outside of OpenStax. Use their references as well for further reading.

Each answer should be about half a page single spaced ( which is about 2-3 substantial paragraphs ). Each answer should also include citations from the online text. For example, after the sentence/point you use from the book, you can cite your quotes as: (OpenStax section 4.1)

Chapter 16 & 17 Domestic & Foreign Policy

4) In the Domestic Policy chapter, very broad themes that help us understand the history of the US economic perspective are laissee-faire, Keynesian economics, mandatory spending vs. discretionary spending. Define each of these terms but also discuss and paint a picture of what these terms actually meant for our country.

5) In the Foreign Policy chapter, pick any examples that are interesting to you pertaining to different foreign affairs the US became involved with; or if you prefer a more technical approach, different structures within foreign policy.

For Thursday’s final essay, you will be turning in a 4-5-page comparative reading that engages TWO of the
five poems we covered last week. What is due first is a detailed outline, as described in the PDF handout in
the May 25 module. In addition to reviewing the non-literary materials from last week, please make sure to
use your previous writing assignments to get your thinking going.
Your essay will be focused on one of the following topics. Choose ONE of these prompts:
1. Consider Audre Lorde’s engagement with various social marginalizations. How do two of Lorde’s
poems engage with the concept of intersectionality?
2. Consider the ways parenting comes up in “Black Mother Woman,” “Those Winter Sundays,” and
“forgiving my father.” How do two of these poems make us think about parenthood in
counterintuitive ways?
3. Consider how positive, socially-centered feelings such as love and empathy come up in “Coal”
and “Those Winter Sundays.” How do these poems conceptualize positive feelings in
counterintuitive ways?
Please review “Short Writing Assignment 3: Thesis and Outline” on Blackboard (May 25 module). The goals
of the outline are to have 1) your textual evidence in place, 2) your close readings assembled, and 3) a
tentative thesis formulated.
Your feedback for this round will focus on these three elements. The final essay should feel much easier to
put together if you do a thorough job with this outline.
1. Parameters:
Required format: 12-point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, page numbers, with an
original title
Required length of outline: 450 words (Final comparative essay: 4-5 pages)
2. Components of your outline:
As described in today’s PDF file, this outline for your final comparative essay must include at least three
passages from the two poems you select.
Make sure to review the non-literary materials from last week, including the PowerPoint that describes that a
comparative essay is NOT simply “a list of similarities or differences between two texts.”

You will write a paper on: “Maps and spatial data offer emergency management and the public opportunities to work together in detecting hazards. Provide examples on how using data to manage disasters help you to make well-informed decisions”.
