ED 367A OLLU Assessment and Differentiation in Reading Data Analysis Discussion
PART 2: Data Analysis (Tells the whole story).
- What information is contained in your Data set? (FCAT/FSA)
- How many students are being analyzed in your Data set?
- How many boys and how many girls?
- Were there any absences? How do you know?
- What grade level?
- Break down the Data set to tell everything about the students.
- Talk about strengths and weaknesses.
- Did you notice any discrepancies? (high-low, low-high scores);scores “jumped” up and down.
Examples:
- 67% of the students in your Data set struggled in fluency.
- 33% of the students in your Data set struggled in Comprehension.
- Notice that 67% + 33% = 100%
- Design a Reading Block that addresses what you wrote in parts 2. (See samples below and “tweak” as necessary).

- Choose a grade level. (3RD Grade)
- Include Higher-Order thinking questions to ask based on the text you chose.
PART 3: Implementation
Use the data/information from Parts 2, and put into practice/”implement”.
