Academy of Art University Italian Renaissance Essay
For the Essay
Your essay will address the following:
- A stylistic description of your chosen movement and brief discussion of why you selected this movement
- A brief biography of any referenced designer(s)
- A description of each item included in your mood board, using relevant terminology/ vocabulary words and analysis of their stylistic characteristics. Why do these examples best represent the period and movement?
- An analysis of the greater socioeconomic and political circumstances that influenced the growth and development of the movement. How did these factors inform the style of the movement? This refers to Cultural Context, or you can think of this as what was going on when the art/architecture/design items were created? This is all the context that helps us understand why the art/architecture/design items appear the way they do.So this refers to what was going on: geographically / historically / culturally/ religiously / economically or social circumstancesYou don’t have to explain every aspect which I have here, but what best connects to your period style. For example:
- When and where was it made? (geographical location. Are you discussing art from an empire or a specific country? Or city?
- What was the economy like? Is this reflected in the art or medium used?
